Project Description
The Moreno-Lakeside Pipeline (MLP) Project is an important
part of the San Diego County Water Authority's Capital Improvement Program
to enhance the flexibility, reliability and capacity of its water delivery
system. The Water Authority is installing a 4.7-mile pipeline that will
connect an existing pipeline to the Helix Water District's R.M. Levy Water
Treatment Plant. The project also includes a flow control facility.
The Moreno-Lakeside Pipeline Project will ensure the Water
Authority can supply up to 80 million gallons per day of untreated water
to the R.M. Levy Water Treatment Plant that is owned and operated by the
Helix Water District. Out of the 80 million gallons per day, 40 mgd will
be used for the Helix Water District, 8 mgd by Otay Water District, 18
mgd by Padre Dam Municipal Water District and 14 mgd is reserved for future
use.
A 46- by 50-foot flow control facility will be located on
a half-acre site along El Monte Road, east of the Lake Jennings Park Road
intersection. The facility will measure the flow of water to the Helix,
Otay and Padre Dam Municipal Water Districts. |
