The Water Authority has ten days from receipt of a request in which to respond, but often responds more quickly. In certain instances, it may take longer than 10 days for the Water Authority to respond. The Water Authority endeavors to respond promptly to all requests. If the Water Authority determines that a request is for a record exempt from disclosure, it will provide the reason for that determination.
The Water Authority will not disclose records that assess vulnerability of its facilities, operations or property to terrorist attack or other criminal acts intended to disrupt the its operations, or the disclosure of which would compromise the security of the Water Authority’s facilities, operations, workplaces or personnel. The Water Authority requires the name, address and positive identification of any person requesting to inspect or receive copies of records relating to the location, construction, operation or maintenance of Authority facilities or property, along with a statement of the purpose for the inspection or receipt of copies. Positive identification may be established by a California driver's license, California identification card or other official photographic identification.
Records will be made available for inspection at the Water Authority business office from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, except holidays. Photocopies of requested records may be provided for a standard fee of $ 0.20 per copy. Electronic copies may be provided on compact disk generally at $1.00 per CD, however, costs for the production of electronic records may vary depending on the request.
